Saying Goodbye

My final days in Boston sadly have come and gone.  Here are some parting shots and memories of my trip.  Saying goodbye has never come easy to me.  Alas it is time to go home.  I do have a family waiting for me.  So here are some final pics of my adventures in Boston along with some parting thoughts.

The baby hawk
There was this baby hawk.  When we first saw him he was sitting on this bench.  He stayed for about 20 minutes and let us photograph him.

Later that day we sat and watched him learning how to fly for hours.  Farewell beautiful Hawk.

Ricks class

This picture was taken in one of the classes I had the pleasure of sitting in on.  This was Rick's class on Dystopian fiction.  Honestly it was a little frightening, but a very good class.  My sis and I left a little creeped out...

Goodbye Rick and all my new writer friends...

On the final day before graduation I went for a walk to find a local monastery.  I did indeed find it.  This is the cat I sat outside and talked to for the better part of an hour.  Goodbye sweet cat.

My Sis graduated!  Here is Me, Suz and Cindy
After the graduation we posed for pictures.  Here is the graduate herself Suzanne Deshchidn, and the charming Cindy Zelman.

And this is the vivacious Jacquelyn Brown and I.  She graduates next year!  Goodbye Cindy, and Jacque...

After the graduation the poets all went to one final dinner.  Theresa and I are engaged in the conversation.  And here I am with the sprightly Golda Solomon.  She almost moved me to tears with her sadness at parting from all her new friends.

Goodbye sweet Theresa, goodbye brilliant Golda oh and there's Kate too, goodbye wise Kate.

After the graduation we drove back to New York where my sis lives.  We walked and talked and sat by the river.  Goodbye river....

All in all it was a lovely adventure.  I enjoyed myself immensely, made lots of new friends, and had some time to myself to really think about life.

I miss all my new writer friends!  And hope to see you all again soon.

Too many adventures too little time...

I'm getting behind on blogging my adventures.  Every day there's a new one or more.  On this day we decided to go check out the New England Aquarium.

First we had to have lunch though.  We were really hungry.  So Suzanne and Theresa took me to a new Vietnamese restaurant we spotted by the Cheesecake Factory.

They loved us there.  Only the host couldn't believe that there were three of us.  I think my beauty stunned him.

Here Theresa is showing me how her phone does all
these cool things.

Then it was off to the Aquarium.  The first exhibit inside the doors of the New England Aquarium was the penguins.  Unfortunately when I saw them I immediately remembered Happy Feet and was overcome by sadness.  This is why I don't do zoos anymore.  I know what it's like to be kept in a box.  It was stuffy, uncomfortable and everyone was always staring at me.  It is better to be free!  Those poor little guys....

After the Aquarium we took a walk on the pier.  It was fun.  People sure are friendly here.  They kept asking about me, and why I was on the pier with my friends.  Some even gave us suggestions of good places for photo ops.  You'd think we were models with all the attention we got.

That's all for this day.  I'll post again later.  TTFN (Ta Ta for now)

Still having a blast in Boston and meeting more writers every day. On this day we were waiting to hear another graduate reading, which was followed by a Bar-B-Que.

Making my entrance into the grand hall.

Here I am meeting the Fabulous poet Jacqueline Brown, who is soon to be published in the AAR literary journal.  That's Buffy.   He's  writer too, in another genre. Not sure what he thought of me.  Men!

I had the pleasure of hearing Jacqueline read some of her works a couple of days ago, it was a brilliant reading and I really loved it.  I fell in love with her personality, her style, and her poetry.   I'll have to get a better picture with her later.

Then along came Golda.  I had the pleasure of hearing her read as well, it was magnificent.  She has a real Jazzy vibe when she reads, it's a lot like music.  We had a couple of interesting conversations.  She's trouble that one...

Here I am posing for a photo after my reading.  It went very well.

The Bar B Que was supposed to take place outside, but we were rained out.  We had to have it in the hall.

Finally the dazzling Cindy Zelman showed up again.  Here I am sitting with my sis Suzanne, Cindy and Golda.  It was a wonderful event.  I loved the excellent readings, interesting conversation and making many fine new friends here in Boston.

Another fine day in Boston

So today still finds me in he lovely city of Boston Massachusetts.  I have a moment to post some more pics of the fun I'm having here.

Did I mention I am hanging with a bunch of poets and writers?  Yup.  They have kindly taken me in.  Last time you met the fabulous Miss Cindy Zelman.  I didn't get a picture of her zoo, but she graciously took me to meet them when I first got here.  The cats were very curious, the bunny just wanted to be loved on and Cindy the fish, well, who knows?

So far everyone has been very thoughtful, and they've taken really good care of me.  I'll show you what I mean.

So here is my lovely Sis Suzanne Deshchidn, Poetrix extraordinaire.  She's published here and there, I believe in Patterson's literary review even, and has a couple of books out.  You can find her links below and to the left of this.
She is reading to me before the official reading begins.  She's a doll, isn't she?!!

Some fellow writer friends of hers walk in and she introduces me.  Everyone's been really good about that... and of course everyone wants to meet me.  They seem really interested in who I am and what I do.

We sit and have a conversation with our coffee.  Of course they are very interested in me and my adventures.

This is Theresa and Anne

My new friend Theresa shares her candy with me.

After the reading each group poses for a group picture.  The poets kindly ask me to join them. It's official now.  I'm a full-fledged Poetess.  I even wrote a poem in one of the classes and gave my own mini reading of it.  It was fun.

Here we are at the Cheesecake
Factory

The close of each day finds us dining with some of the most fabulous people.  Most notably the world renowed  Cindy Zelman, Creative non-fiction writer, whom you met in my last post.  Her link is also to the left under Linky Love.
So closes another beautiful day in Boston with beautiful friends.

Enjoying life in Boston!

So this month brings me to the beautiful city of Boston, where I am visiting my sis, and making new friends.

I accompanied Suz to her college where she will be receiving her masters degree in Poetry next weekend.  See we are not only beautiful, but smart too!

While here she has introduced me to many new people-  we've eaten out, had some laughs, and spent the night at a friends house.

Thank you Miss Cindy Zelman for having us!  We enjoyed meeting your zoo, and chit chatting until the wee hours of the night.

We've had many a fun adventure here.  Maybe we can read about some of it in The Early Draft.  That's Cindy's blog which I highly enjoy reading.  She is a very humorous memoir writer who has really interesting stories about life.

So far we've laughed a lot,

we've eaten a lot,

and we've napped a lot...

Stay tuned for more Boston adventures to come!

I went to the ballet and.....

made a new friend.
No not him, that's Lil E

The ballet was wonderful.  Many lovely girls all doing what they love.  That is what I enjoy most.  People really living and loving life!   I just love to watch people doing what they love.
These girls make dancing look like so much fun!

So we took a few turns ourselves....

While at the ballet Lil E and I were posing for some pictures, you know the paparazzi follow me everywhere, and then we met him.  His name is Gustav.

Gustav loves beer apparently.  He has a blog too (just click on that link).    He, Lil E and Lil Gee got to talking and found that they had that in commom.  Lil E loves beer (good beer only) and Lil Gee loves to have a good time!  I think Gustave might be a good beer snob buddy for Lil E.  Especially since I hate beer, never touch the stuff!

Anyway, just thought I'd introduce you.  I'll let you know how this friendship pans out...   Maybe we'll have some good times together...
Take a bow Lil Gee

He can't keep his hands off me!

BTW, today we celebrated my sweet Jewel's 9th birthday!  Here we are posing for a picture at the Ballet.

She's the sweetest thing!

Until next time....    So long, farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, goodnight.....
